Below I’ve included some screenshots on getting NPS configured to accept wireless authentication via smartcard.

First make sure the AP or wireless controller radius client is configured in NPS

Next use the wizard to get started… select RADIUS server for 802.1x Wireless or wired connections

We want Secure Wireless Connections, you can give it a name

Now choose which Radius Client the authentications requests will be coming from

EAP type Smart Card or Other Certificate

Choose user groups allowed by this policy and finish off.

Make sure users are bound with the certificates. Right-click on the username and select “Name Mappings”… If no certificate exists add the user certificate.
